Gonzalo is one of our second grade students. He entered first grade with practically no English. He has learned to read, write, and speak English on a second grade level. He has made such progress because of his work ethic. He is a good listener and when he doesn't understand what he hears or reads, he asks. He follows directions very well. He wants to do well and does his best in everything he does. He is very responsible about homework! Responsible describes Gonzalo. He is responsible for his own learning.

Gonzalo is kind and good to everyone. He has a cute sense of humor. All children like to play with him. He has done a really good job of participating with read aloud. He reads aloud to the class with lots of expression and even uses different voices.

We have enjoyed Gonzalo so much. We think he is a "Kid of the Year".
