SUBJECT: PICTURE MATTE
I have a few movie posters I want to frame. What is the best way to frame these without damaging the posters?
ANSWER: We have had many questions regarding how to frame collectable posters, and due to the volume of questions, we are in the process of producing an illustrated page
showing in detail how to care for and frame your posters in collectable quality. Do not mount your print. Frame it behind a matt so that it will not directly touch the glass
of the frame. Do not hang it in direct sunlight. If it is extremely valuable we suggest using a new ultraviolet blocking glass to keep it from fading. More info will
be on our framing tips page. Check back!

SUBJECT: PICTURE FRAME
Do you have anything in the way of a magnetic backed picture frame, 81/2 X 11?
ANSWER: The 8 1/2 X 11 size is actually a custom size, but many of our frames are available in any custom size you wish. Our frame page on line now.
When you have chosen a frame you like, simply email us the frame id# and size you wish, and we'll email you a price. Discounts are available in quantities of 6 or more and greater discounts begin at 12 or more ordered of the same size and style. You can make any frame magnetic
by simply gluing a strip magnet to the back of the frame. Magnetic strips can be purchased at craft or variety stores. Try it!

SUBJECT: PICTURE MATTE
Perhaps you can help me. I've been searching area stores for a picture frame matte which has six openings for 4 X 6 photos. Do you know where I might be able to order something like this? I don't want to spend a fortune, either.
ANSWER: a custom cut matte is the answer for you, and you might be surprised at how reasonable the price to have one made is, especially if you consider the time you would spend trying to find such a unique matte pre-cut. The first thing
you need to do is determine the size of frame within which you want to fit your six prints. You can keep your cost down on a frame by choosing a ready-made size, and buying a ready made frame. However, not all custom frames are really
expensive. If you value the collection you are framing, and you wish to hang it in a beautiful way, then a few dollars extra are no expense, but an insurance that your framing project will be of timeless value to you. A professional
framer can cut your matt. Check with your local framing shop and ask about prices and ideas. Good Luck!!

SUBJECT: FRAMING WITH GLASS
I have a S/N work that is 38 X 52. I am interested in 'floating' the work between two pieces of glass, with a clear boarder of about 1.5 inches. Do you have any recommendations on the type of frame
required?
ANSWER: When you are working with a signed and numbered print, it is most important to retain the collection value by keeping the piece as free from contamination as possible. The glassing project is
an interesting and artistic way to frame, but with a collectable print, some care must be taken. We recommend that the artwork not touch the glass. This can be accomplished by matting the object before framing
it. We also recommend using acrylic instead of glass as the weight of glass will be prohibitive with a project of this size. You must also choose a substantial frame that will be strong enough
to hold the weight. A professional framer would best help you accomplish this.

SUBJECT: METAL FRAMES
I am looking for a business that will ship metal picture framing materials to me so that I can frame my own pictures at home. I used to order from
someone in New York, but have misplaced their address. Am presently looking for another company to help me out. I would like to buy precut metal frames in various colors,
along with the necessary hardware to put the frames together. Do you offer this? If so, please send me a catalog of what you have available.
ANSWER: We do offer pre-cut metal picture frames. At this time we do not have a paper catalog to send to you, nor are the metal frames listed in our on-line catalog.
In the meantime, e-mail us the sizes and colors of what
you need at this time, and we will work up an offer for you. You can also call us at 1-800-295-5217 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mountain Time. Thanks!!

SUBJECT: INTEREST IN READY MADE FRAMES
I am selling my own artist prints and I am interested in buying frames wholesale. I am interested in 5 X 7, 8 X 10, and perfectly square frames such as 12 X 12 or 14 X 14
with mats. I am interested in wood frames that are natural, white, black, or stained oak in color.
ANSWER: The frames you describe are exactly what we carry, and are on our virtual frame catalog. The square frames are a custom
request, but if purchased in volume, we can get you lower than ready made frame prices.

SUBJECT: Frames and Matts
I recently started a business where I have some framing to do. I am interested in the prices of matts
and frames. The sizes I need are 11 X 14, 8 X 10, and 81/2 X 11 print sizes and am unsure of the actual
frame size. If you could help me with prices and your products I would appreciate it. You can e-mail me or send catalog.
Thank You.
ANSWER: Thanks for your framing inquiry. Ready-made frames come in 11 X 14 & 8 X 10 sizes. The 8 1/2 X 11 size would
be considered a custom frame. However, if you need frames in large quantities of any custom size, the price would be similar to a
ready-made frame price. TO DETERMINE THE SIZE OF FRAME TO ORDER FOR YOUR ARTWORK: Many people think a frame size is measured
from outside to outside of the frame. It is not. It is not even measured by the inside measurements. A frame measurement
is made from the inside lip to inside lip, which is the measurement of the size of print that would fit exactly into the frame. (When you turn a frame around
to the back, you will see that a lip is made to cradle the print) This is what
determines the size of the frame. EXAMPLE: You have a photograph size 8 X 10 to frame. The frame size that you would order would be
8 X 10, but, of course, the outside measurements would be larger than 8 X 10 because of the width of the frame around your print. Also, the inside
measurements would be smaller that 8 X 10 so that a lip can hold the work of art from falling out the front of the frame.
Another effective way to frame a print, especially one that does not fit into any of the ready-made frames (like your 8 1/2 X 11) is to buy the
next size larger frame and matt the print up to fit into the frame. Matts can be cut to fit your 8 1/2 X 11 prints into an 11 X 14 frame.
The best thing to do is determine what will best compliment your print to be framed. Cost would also be a factor, as the larger size frame would be
required, as well as the cost of the matt.
Please make a color xerox copy of your project. Mail it to us at
Bracken House, 70 W. 700 S., St. George, Ut. 84770. We will give you our detailed opinion of what would best compliment your project, and will send you a detailed
account of the costs. Our on-line framing catalog will be available sometime this fall. Bookmark this page and return often as we will be adding new frames weekly.

SUBJECT: Custom Frames
Sirs,
I am wanting to have a custom frame made to hold a few of my comic books from
my collection. If you can help please reply and include information that would
be needed to determine a price. If you are unable to assist me, could you
suggest someone who may. Thank you, Mr. John Kern
ANSWER:
Dear John,:>
Custom Framing is a wonderful, and exciting skill! We love to make a work of art
from memorbilia and collectables. We suggest that you take your comic books to a local frame shop
where they can be treated individually. If a Custom Framer is not available at your location,
we would be very happy to create a custom matt and frame to accommodate your project.
To best help us, answer these questions and return to us by email.
What is your decorating taste?: Ornate? Simple? Country? Elegant?
What colors are dominant in your artwork?
What color frame would best compliment your decor? Gold? Wood tone? Metal? A color?
If wood tone, what wood type? Oak? Cherry? Walnut? Other?
What is the size of the item (or items) to be framed?
What color matt would compliment your decor?
These answers would give us something to begin with, and we could recommend a frame and matt, giving you
a price estimate.

SUBJECT: Picture Frame
I am in need of a picture frame to hold a 11 X 14 canvas, I would like it to have a three inch
matting, and of course larger than the picture. Do you have any brochures that you could send to me at
this time. At least try to send me a price list and a description of the frame so I can see if you may
have what I am looking for. Thanks. Debbie
ANSWER: First, check out our ON-LINE FRAME CATALOG!
You can order your frames directly through email.
A NOTE ABOUT FRAMING A CANVAS PROJECT: A canvas print or oil painting is generally not framed
with a matt. Rather, it is framed directly with a frame and sometimes with a liner and frame. (A liner is a linen, velvet,
fabric, or wooden insert between the frame and the canvas that would be done in such a way as to compliment
the colors within the artwork. I would not recommend a matt with a canvas project.
